The first project I worked on during my residency with the Center for Historic Preservation was a Nashville Metro landmark application for Hank Snow’s Rainbow Ranch property in Madison, TN. I wrote the historic narrative about Hank Snow and his house and studio where he lived from 1950 until his death in 1999. You can read my draft here.
On February 21, 2018, The Council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County approved the Neighborhood Landmark Overlay District application in Bill BL2018-1053. Here is the corresponding map from the application. Soon after, we submitted an application for Hank Snow’s Rainbow Ranch’s inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places, which contains the historical narrative I wrote in the fall of 2017. The application can be read here: NR Cover Sheet and NR Narrative.
